Bubba Ho-Tep Limited Edition Steelbook RELEASED
The King is getting the collector's treatment he deserves. The cult classic Bubba Ho-Tep arrives this week in a gorgeous limited edition Steelbook from Scream Factory …and that killer cover art alone earns a spot on any horror fan's shelf. Inside, the film gets a fresh 4K scan from the original camera negative in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible).
Bruce Campbell (Army of Darkness) delivers what Premiere called his "greatest and most entertaining performance to date" as an aging, cantankerous Elvis stuck in an East Texas rest home. When a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy with a taste for cowboy boots and the souls of the barely-living starts picking off residents, it falls to the King … and a man convinced he's JFK (the great Ossie Davis) — to send the soul-sucker back to the sands. From writer-director Don Coscarelli (Phantasm) and a story by Joe R. Lansdale, The Hollywood Reporter called it a "zinger-filled crowd-pleaser." They weren't wrong.
The Steelbook is stacked with extras: three audio commentaries (including one with "The King" himself), previously unreleased featurettes on the filming locations, the Egyptian Theatre premiere, and TIFF, plus new interviews, deep dives into the makeup, costuming, and Brian Tyler's score, deleted scenes, archival footage, and more.
These limited editions never last long … if your hip's still good enough to reach for your wallet, grab the Steelbook here.
