Bubba Ho-Tep Named #1 Mummy Movie of All Time BY DREAD CENTRAL

That moment DreadCentral names your Elvis vs. Mummy flick as the best to ever do it!

Anastasia Elfman over at Dread Central just published her Top 10 Mummy Movies list as part of her "It's A Wrap!" column, and Bubba Ho-Tep came in at number one 😲!

We are thrilled and humbled to be included alongside an incredible list of films, from the 1932 Boris Karloff original to the 1999 Brendan Fraser classic to Hammer Horror and Tales from the Darkside. The fact that Bubba Ho Tep landed at number one in that company is something we do not take for granted.

The Mondo poster for Bubba Ho-tep by the great Randy Ortiz…

She called the film a "unique masterpiece" and wrote that Bruce's performance as an aging Elvis in a walker dueling a revivified mummy in a Texas nursing home was "beyond brilliant." Her words, not ours. But we agree.

The piece also includes exclusive quotes from Bruce Campbell and Don Coscarelli:

The great Bruce Campbell as “Elvis” gave a performance for the ages…

Bruce said: "I don't know any actor who would not want to play Elvis Presley, so that was a fun challenge. However, no one has played him as a 68-year-old man in an East Texas rest home with cancer on his penis. Bubba was the most unique scripts I ever read. Between that and knowing Don Coscarelli, a genre contemporary of mine, was going to direct it made me feel at home."

Don said: "Our two heroes get around using a walker and a wheelchair. The key thing about mummies, they move slow. That's why Bubba Ho-Tep is set in an elder care home. Their prey moves slow as well. Where's the excitement in a mummy film if the prey can just run away??"

This one has always meant a lot to everyone who made it, and it means a lot to see it recognized this way. Read the full article here. Thank you to Anastasia Elfman and Dread Central for the honor!
